Food Safety
To All Our Valued Customers,
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has reported that its traceback investigation has identified a common supplier of iceberg lettuce from Mexico associated with Taco Bell locations where individuals became ill prior to developing Cyclospora infections. As a precautionary measure, Taco Bell has committed to discontinuing the use of lettuce sourced from the supplier identified through the FDA's investigation.
The FDA, along with state and local public health agencies, continues to actively investigate the source and scope of the contamination. Because the investigation remains ongoing, additional suppliers, brands, restaurants, retailers, or distribution channels may be identified as more information becomes available.
At this time, Produce Express has not been impacted by any known Cyclospora outbreak, and none of our approved growers or suppliers have reported any associated concerns. Our produce sourcing network is primarily based in California and continues to operate normally while maintaining rigorous food safety and quality assurance standards.
Based on the information currently available, there is no indication that any products distributed by Produce Express are affected by this investigation. We remain in close communication with our growers, suppliers, industry partners, and regulatory agencies to ensure the continued safety, traceability, and integrity of the products we provide.
The health and safety of our customers remain our highest priority. Should any food safety concern arise, Produce Express is fully prepared to respond promptly through our established traceability, notification, and risk management procedures. We appreciate your continued trust and partnership. Produce Express remains committed to delivering safe, wholesome, and high-quality products, and we will continue to monitor developments related to this investigation and provide updates as appropriate.
